Founding Fathers part 2

We took communion this morning.

And I don't want to just blow past that.

- Because what we did at that table is exactly what this whole message is about.

- We stopped.

- We remembered.

- We said — this is what it cost. We are not going to forget.

That's not an accident. Jesus didn't say think about this whenever you feel like it. He said do this in remembrance of me.

- It's a command. A rhythm built into the life of the church.

- And God has been doing that with his people forever.

Israel had feasts and festivals woven into their entire calendar year.

- Not because God needed the party.

⁃Because he knew what happens to a people who forget.
